Black Stone Cherry | Carry Me On Down The Road

BLACK STONE CHERRY have released their brand new video “Carry Me On Down The Road” taken from their current album “Family Tree”.

The clip was directed by Mike Rodway and shot on the road with the band over the past year. It features clips of the band on stage at the UK’s Download Festival as well as on the road across Europe and the US.

Frontman Chris Robertson told Metal Hammer “It’s one of my absolute favorites from the album. It may be one of the top five songs we’ve ever written. It’s one of the most musical things we’ve ever written. It flows up and down, and there’s a lot of dynamics. It’s a pain in the ass to sing and play, but it’s a lot of fun! ”

Bassist Jon Lawhon adds  “If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like or wanted to experience a tour with Black Stone Cherry, the Carry Me On Down The Road music video gives you the coolest and most unique perspective of our touring lives.” Guitarist Ben Wells continues, “Carry Me On Down The Road is one of my personal favourites on the album. I remember as we were writing it and creating these riffs, I knew we had something unique and different to anything else we had done before. To me, it’s a catalyst song for the overall vibe of Family Tree.”

Lyrics

Well, I was born for leavin’
It’s just what I do
And my feet don’t sleep
‘Cause they stay on the move

Ain’t no deceivin’
Ain’t no master plan
Imma keep, keep, keepin’ on
I’m a travelin’ man

Roll on
Well, I got wheels that can’t be stopped
I gotta ramble, ramble on
Roll on
Peaceful feeling in my soul
Carry me on down that road, oh!

I said, “Listen people
I got something to say
I’ve been around the world
It took forty-two days

And I met ten-thousand women
And I run ten-thousand miles
To be with y’all this evenin’
Yeah baby, I’ve been around the”

Roll on
Well, I got wheels that can’t be stopped
I gotta ramble, ramble on
Roll on
Peaceful feeling in my soul
Carry me on down that road, oh!

Roll on
Well, I got wheels that can’t be stopped
Come on baby, ’bout to sing it again

Roll on
Well, I got wheels that can’t be stopped
I gotta ramble, ramble on
Roll on
Peaceful feeling in my soul
Carry me on down that road, oh!
